If you love horses, you'll love Equinetourism.co.uk...

Equine Tourism

Horse Shows and Events - If you're looking for horse shows and equestrian-related activities, Equinetourism.co.uk lists masses of equestrian events across the UK and internationally - from racing, eventing and show jumping, to all types of horse shows, competitions, clinics, workshops, demos and talks - from a host of experts across all disciplines and horsemanship methods. So check out Equinetourism.co.uk's Events & Shows section before you plan your diary!

Horse Holidays and Training - If you're thinking of either taking your own horse on holiday or travelling further afield for the horse-riding adventure of a lifetime, Equinetourism.co.uk includes a huge range of horse holiday options from warm, welcoming farmhouses and equestrian centres with horse facilities in some of the UK's best riding areas, to the chance to improve your dressage technique in the rolling Chianti Hills of Tuscany, or your show jumping technique in France - through to challenging horse treks in India, the Andes, New Zealand and Mongolia - to name a few. You'll also find a wide choice of fabulous ranch holidays in the USA and Canada - from basic, authentic cattle drives to luxurious spas, gourmet cooking and inspiring horsemanship programmes.

Promoting Good Horsemanship - Equinetourism.co.uk was launched three years ago to encourage people to get involved in more equestrian activities, promoting good horsemanship and horse welfare - and to increase understanding of horse behaviour and psychology. The initiative helps to put people in touch with experts, professionals and services, across all equine disciplines, and endeavours to promote quality establishments and equine businesses, where commitment to good horsemanship is paramount. You'll also find special editorial sections on wild and free-living horse and pony herds around the world, as well as information on riding terrain and horsemanship methods.

The Equinetourism.co.uk Team - Equinetourism.co.uk is run by a small team of passionate and dedicated horsemen who are all horse owners and involved in a range of disciplines from natural horsemanship, classical riding, TREC, eventing, dressage, cross country and the conservation and promotion of the rare Exmoor pony breed.

Exmoor-based founder and MD of Equinetourism.co.uk, Dawn Williams, is qualified in Monty Roberts methods of horsemaship and also trains classically. This combined approach works well with her young moor bred Exmoor ponies. It initially took a long time to win the trust of the young colt, but once established, he has enjoyed a successful first showing season, winning many championships, culminating in the 2006 breed show supreme championship. He is now a licensed stallion and will eventually be brought out under saddle. Dawn's yard also includes arabians and a thoroughbred. For more information on Exmoor ponies, see the Exmoor pony editorial section on Equinetourism.co.uk.
