Latest on Love Horse

When someone contacts you on www.lovehorse.co.uk (or any site for that matter), and offers you his/her email address along with an invitation to communicate off the site, it's very tempting to follow this up and start contacting that person away from the site by using MSN or by email. We strongly advise our members NOT to respond in this way. We advise our members to use the site's facilites first, and get to know any prospective partners while on the site. By doing so you protect your privacy and can proceed at your own pace. Don't feel pressured to respond to requests to reveal your email address. If the approach is genuine then the person will understand and will proceed at a pace that suits you.

Here's a quick and easy way to announce your location to the rest of the site: Use the Tag feature on your profiles to add your county or nearest major city.

For example, lovehorse has added the tag 'Hampshire' to his profile. If you click on the link "Tags & Locations" in the top menu you'll see that Hampshire appears in the list of tags. Click on Hampshire and the lovehorse profile is displayed.

Anyone who lives in Hampshire and who tags their own profile in the same way will appear whenever the tag 'Hampshire' is clicked in the lists of tags. You can do this for any county, city, or town. Here's how:

1. Sign in
2. Click Profile
3. Click Build Profile (if you're not already there)
4. Drag the Tag box from the Component list and drop it into one of your profile areas (if it's not already there)
5. Add the tag(s) of your choice.

You can still also use the tags to denote your interests or to highlight other profiles, but this is a simple of way for anyone living in the same county to make themselves known.

So, get tagging and get noticed!

The Top Photo feature is now working and displaying the top photos as voted for by our members. To view, simply sign in and click the Top Photos link which you'll find just under the top banner.

There are two ways in which you can vote for photos:

1. Click Members then click 'rate photos' from the sub menu. You can choose men or women using the small menu to the right, or you can just vote for both. As you cast a vote by clicking on the stars, another photo will appear.

2. View some profiles (by clicking Members, Who's Online, or a simple search for all men/women with photos), then click on the profile name or the thumbnail image. You'll then see the photo voting stars on the right, over the photo box. Click on the star of your choice to vote. Click on any other thumbnails beneath and vote for them too.

You can also vote for the whole profile by using the stars int the Rate Profile box, just to the left of the photo box.

Dear administrators at Lovehorse!

Thank you so much for a brilliant site and congratulations on your updates version!

I would with this like to ask you to delete my membership. After only a few weeks on Lovehorse I found the man I intend to spend the rest of my life with, and within a few months I will move with my daughter from Norway to Scotland to live with him.

I think your site has a brilliant idea, focusing on people who like horses and rural life. Way too much now a days is made for the urban and glamorous people! Thank you for creating a contrast to that!

Good luck on your future in matchmaking :-)

BP

PS Feel free to quote me wherever you like! I have already sent several of my Norwegian friends to your site to check it out, so you might even get more Norwegian customers soon ;-)

'I just wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of myself (Nix) and Andrew (Firehorse). We met 4 weeks ago through your site and what a whirlwind it has been. We got on so well on email and IM we decided to meet and despite a 4 hour drive it was well worth it because on our second weekend together this Easter we discovered that we have both met our soulmate and are hoping to spend the rest of our lives together and are already making plans for the future which now looks rosey for both of us. He sent me a text today saying he could never imagine being with anyone else and I feel the same. Without Lovehorse I would have never have met Andrew and never of been so happy so a big thank you!'

'Following nearly 12 years of very unsucessful dating and divorce, I was encouraged to join Love Horse by my friends and daughter following an advert in Horse and Hound. This was also how my new partner joined. He was encouraged by some friends following nearly 6-7 years of being single. Quite honestly neither of us thought we would meet the right person.

Having been approached by Jeremy (Breaconpop/Finestallion) we exchanged quite a lot of emails and talked a lot and found that we had huge amounts in common, including hunting and other likes. We exchanged lots of photos and really liked each other.

We arranged to meet and it was almost magical. There was such an instant attraction, and apparently he said that he knew that he had met the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Indeed the relationship has grown to be something of a local love story with our Hunt and local horse comunity, as we have both realised we have fallen madly in love, even if it does sound soft, and will now start planning to spend the rest of our future together.

We will be having a a summer at lots of social events and shows, planning some holiday, and on the 21st of April, we will be attending our hunt ball, with the Readyfield Bloodhounds who I hunt with, at Newarke showground with a party of our friends as a bit of a celebration.

Jeremy has said it's taken him years to find the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with, and it's going to be this year's love story. Without a doubt we are now probably grateful we did the lovehorse thing after all! It has been an amazing experience. Any man who will drive all the way from Cardiff to Derby in the snow for the woman he loves is very special indeed, but then again I have done the same in return!'
