The Chuppo Recorder is now fully operational. This means that you can now use the site record:
A) Sound clips
B) Video clips
C) Video clips with sound
All you need is a webcam and/or microphone, and preferably some speakers to play back any sound recordings you make.
If you have a webcam and/or microphone installed then go to your Home page and you'll see the RECORD WEBCAM link in the submenu. Click that to reach the Chuppo Recorder page.
Read the instructions given and try recording a few test clips. When you've got the hang of it, record something to store for display on your profile and then announce your new recording in the forums.
To get the ball rolling, 'lovehorse' has recorded his first clip! View his profile. Scroll down to the Chuppo Player and click the title, then click the Play button.
Scrub yourselves up and get recording!

You may have noticed that there is sometimes a discrepancy between the Who's Online page and the list of Online Users on the left.
This happens when a user who has been online leaves their browser window open and goes off to do somethine else. In other words, they are signed in, but get distracted, or just walk away from the computer without logging out.
After 30 mins their session times out, but the Online Users list will still show them as still online because the little piece of software is still running on the page they were on before they abandoned it to do something else.

We've made some improvements to the site ready for the New Year:
1. We've added more Top Tips to several pages. Look in the left hand column, under the list of online users. More pages now have these Top Tips which explain how to use the page in question.
2. We've updated and improved the FAQ page. More questions and answers have been added, and the colouring has been altered to make it easier to read.
3. There are some new options on your home page (when you first log in, or when you click 'home' in the menu above). You can now see who's birthday it is each day, and you can now send them a birthday greeting using the 'send virtual greeting' link. PLEASE NOTE: If you would prefer not to have your true date of birth on your profile please amend your profile and add an alternative, public birthday.
4. We've added sound and video to the chat rooms and instant messaging. It's now possible to see and hear each other when using these functions.
If you've got a webcam and/or a microphone, but don't want to use one or both, you can still use both instant messaging and the chat rooms without them i.e. just with text. You don't have to use them, but the option is there if you do.
To turn either off, click the green audio/video buttons. To turn them on again, click the buttons so that they return to green.

It's great to see so many members uploading photos. The new site has made the task a lot easier and we can see that many more members are now adding photos to their profiles. Photos are a proven way of generating far more interest in a profile. However, one or two of you have pointed out that you can't see the photos of another member, and here's the reason why.
If you sign in and click on Profile you'll see your Build Profile page. On the left is a column with a menu giving you two choices; default template and advanced template. There is also a button which enables you to choose a colour for your profile background, and under that is the list of profile components.
On the right is the series of boxes. These are your profile areas. You can click on any of the components on the left and drag them over and drop them into one of the boxes. In this way you can create your own unique profile, with things arranged just the way you want them. Use the Background button to choose a coloured background.
Don't be afraid to experiment, but be warned that if you're using one template and you select the other, the profile boxes are all cleared and you have to start again.
PLEASE make sure you have at least these three components in your profile:
A) My Details
B) My Tags
C) My Photos
Check your profile today and make sure that you're displaying at least these three. If any of them are not on the right, they'll be in the list on the left. Click on them and drag them over to the right and drop them in somewhere.
If you want to delete individual components from the areas, click the small cross in the top right corner.
Don't forget there's a PREVIEW link in the submenu above so you can check to see how others will see your profile.

Here's a quick summary of the various ways in which you can search or browse for other members. You might want to keep this email to hand for future reference.
1. Quick Searches
=================
When your first log in you'll see your member home page with the Quick Search box. Once logged in you can return to this page at any time by clicking the 'home' tab.
Use this search box for searching for people of a certain gender, age range, and distance from your post code. Try this test: select 'I am male looking for females aged 35-55 within 75 miles of PO168AY'. You should see at least ten results. Click on any of the thumbnails to view the full profile containing the exact location information.
2. Advanced Searches

Once logged in, click on 'search'. You could start by choosing the same criteria as for a quick search to show the same results. You can also save the search using the link in the top right corner of the search area, and the saved search will then be visible in the left hand column.
Gradually introduce other criteria if you want to be more specific. You can also use this page to search by USERNAME or KEYWORD. Both these boxes are at the foot of the advanced search page.

Click on the Tags & Locations link at the top of the page (or 'tags and locations' under the 'members' menu). Type a county or other tag into the search box on the left.
