Online Dating Testimonials

Louise and Martin met on Love Horse in 2005. They were interviewed by the journalist David Rowan for an article for the Sunday Times (colour supplement). The article 'Downloading Mr Right' appeared on January 8th 2006. Click here to read the complete article.

'Louise Wright set one non-negotiable condition in choosing a man: he must accept her horse as part of the relationship. The 29-year-old blonde from Bristol has been riding since she was six, and with Tigs, her black Irish gelding, competes enthusiastically at weekend showjumping trials when not mucking out at the stables. Non-horsey boyfriends have generally been dismissive if not downright suspicious of the three hours a day she says that Tigs demands of her. So when she found herself in a romantic rut last winter, she began to despair of ever meeting Mr Right.

Then she stumbled across an item in Horse & Hound magazine that was to change her life. LoveHorse.co.uk was a slick new internet dating service for the equestrian community. Never having used a dating agency, and unaware that the site along with LoveAir.co.uk for cabin crews and LoveYoga.com for the karmic set was operated from an IT engineer's laptop, Wright wrote a profile under the nickname "Scrappydoo", describing herself as "a fun-loving country girl" and adding some eventing photos.'

'I wanted to say a huge thank you to Love Horse from Chris (Frisky Stallion) and I. We met just 4 weeks ago for the first time in person, but have been chatting on and off through the site and then on email for the past year. When we first met in the Love Horse cyber forum, we were each just looking for friends as both of us were in existing romantic relationships.

Ironically, and most strangely of all, since there was absolutely no link whasoever to our email friendship, a year later, both of our situations had changed, our outlooks on what we wanted from life were clearer, and and an email out of the blue from Chris perfectly coincided with when I had just renewed my membership on the site again!

After finally plucking up the courage to speak on the telephone, the first conversation lasted 7 hours - right through the night until day break! The second and third were of a similar pattern. I have seen more sunrises in the last month than I have ever before in my life!

We soon decided that we needed to cut the phone bills, and get some sleep, so agreed to meet properly! I know you are supposed to be dreadfully careful when meeting someone you have met through the internet for the first time, but I felt that I could trust this man implicitly. After so many hours of talking on the phone, coupled with the email conversations over the past year, I threw caution to the wind, and invited him up to meet me and my horse on a day I was having a dressage lesson. It was just the best day I can ever remember having; I will never forget it!

The whole experience has been a whirlwind, and totally blown me away. We both know we have met our soulmate in each other, and I am sure it won't be long before we are making future plans to build a life together. He sent me a text today saying I make him feel complete, almost as though I am the other half of him, and I feel the same. If it was not for your site, I would most definitely never have met Chris, and would be missing out on the most amazing experience that has ever happened to me... Thank you!

This site really does work!!'

Dear administrators at Lovehorse!

Thank you so much for a brilliant site and congratulations on your updates version!

I would with this like to ask you to delete my membership. After only a few weeks on Lovehorse I found the man I intend to spend the rest of my life with, and within a few months I will move with my daughter from Norway to Scotland to live with him.

I think your site has a brilliant idea, focusing on people who like horses and rural life. Way too much now a days is made for the urban and glamorous people! Thank you for creating a contrast to that!

Good luck on your future in matchmaking :-)

BP

PS Feel free to quote me wherever you like! I have already sent several of my Norwegian friends to your site to check it out, so you might even get more Norwegian customers soon ;-)

'I just wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of myself (Nix) and Andrew (Firehorse). We met 4 weeks ago through your site and what a whirlwind it has been. We got on so well on email and IM we decided to meet and despite a 4 hour drive it was well worth it because on our second weekend together this Easter we discovered that we have both met our soulmate and are hoping to spend the rest of our lives together and are already making plans for the future which now looks rosey for both of us. He sent me a text today saying he could never imagine being with anyone else and I feel the same. Without Lovehorse I would have never have met Andrew and never of been so happy so a big thank you!'

'Following nearly 12 years of very unsucessful dating and divorce, I was encouraged to join Love Horse by my friends and daughter following an advert in Horse and Hound. This was also how my new partner joined. He was encouraged by some friends following nearly 6-7 years of being single. Quite honestly neither of us thought we would meet the right person.

Having been approached by Jeremy (Breaconpop/Finestallion) we exchanged quite a lot of emails and talked a lot and found that we had huge amounts in common, including hunting and other likes. We exchanged lots of photos and really liked each other.

We arranged to meet and it was almost magical. There was such an instant attraction, and apparently he said that he knew that he had met the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Indeed the relationship has grown to be something of a local love story with our Hunt and local horse comunity, as we have both realised we have fallen madly in love, even if it does sound soft, and will now start planning to spend the rest of our future together.

We will be having a a summer at lots of social events and shows, planning some holiday, and on the 21st of April, we will be attending our hunt ball, with the Readyfield Bloodhounds who I hunt with, at Newarke showground with a party of our friends as a bit of a celebration.

Jeremy has said it's taken him years to find the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with, and it's going to be this year's love story. Without a doubt we are now probably grateful we did the lovehorse thing after all! It has been an amazing experience. Any man who will drive all the way from Cardiff to Derby in the snow for the woman he loves is very special indeed, but then again I have done the same in return!'
