Text based communication is the basis of all messaging on the internet. We send and receive emails and on sites like Love Horse we might send and receive messages and instant messages. We might use the chat rooms and engage in live group chat, and we might also use other forms of text based messaging e.g. MSN, Skype Chat etc., but a few pounds spent on a webcam can open up a whole new dimension to online communication.

Webcams are cheap, easy to use, and a great leap forward for the online dater or cyber penpal. As well as adding to your Love Horse experience your webcam can also by used with Skype, MSN, and a whole host of other applications. You can take still pictures, make short video clips, and even keep an eye on your own home or office when you're away.

Check out the selection below. Click on any you see to read reviews and see the prices. Once you take the step into the world of webcams you'lll wonder why you waited so long!

Another useful tool is a microphone for your computer. Again, it will not only enhance your enjoyment of Love Horse but can also be used in all kinds of ways online. You can make Skype and other phone calls, and record sound clips to share and send to friends. Here is a selection of top selling microphones for you to browse:

Exmoor-based founder and MD of Equinetourism.co.uk, Dawn Williams, is qualified in Monty Roberts methods of horsemaship and also trains classically. This combined approach works well with her young moor bred Exmoor ponies. It initially took a long time to win the trust of the young colt, but once established, he has enjoyed a successful first showing season, winning many championships, culminating in the 2006 breed show supreme championship. He is now a licensed stallion and will eventually be brought out under saddle. Dawn's yard also includes arabians and a thoroughbred. For more information on Exmoor ponies, see the Exmoor pony editorial section on Equinetourism.co.uk.

Do You Have A True Pioneer Spirit? - If so, then why not buddy up for a while with Ray Murray and his associates in Almería, Andalucía, Spain to help establish any one, or all, of the following:

  • The first Equine Sanctuary in the whole of Almería province;
  • The only formal Riding For The Disabled facility in Almería province;
  • A new European Centre for Natural Horsemanship;
  • A new “Spaghetti Western” and “Rural Spain” themed horse-trekking business, (short, medium and long-distance) whose purpose will be to help create and sustain all the above…plus
  • Other Equestrian Enterprises that will also support the charitable and social enterprises of Horse World Spain.

Horse World Spain - All of these ventures, viewed as a whole, will be known as Horse World Spain. As well as benefiting the horses, donkeys and mules of this region, and creating much needed social facilities, this ethical business development project will also help create new job opportunities, both for local people and internationally.

More Than A Normal Holiday – You may have heard of VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas) or perhaps Earthwatch, which specialise in providing experiences, rather than merely holidays, where the clients attending do have free time in order to vacation, but they also use their skills and know-how to help projects that aim to do something to help make this world a better place. Well, Horse World Spain experiences and holidays will be rather like that, except that Horse World Spain will offer both equestrian holidays and value-adding experiences to people.

For Trail-Blazers and Trail-Riders - Once this is all properly established, some horse-lovers will come just to enjoy a riding holiday and have a great vacation. Others, however, will pay to come to design new trails, help with the marketing material, come up with ways of improving the whole thing and so on… and of course they can still go riding in stunning countryside, in or near the only desert in Europe.

For The Love Of Life and Horses – Horse World Spain is still an embryo, but you can be part of helping it to be safely born and nurtured to maturity, until it becomes a self-sustaining Ethical Business, which happens to have, at its heart, a focus on adding value to the life of local equines and the economy of the area (areas) in which it operates.

The Horse World Spain Team – Horse World Spain is being established by a small core team of compassionate and dedicated horse lovers and ethical business development facilitators, based in Almería, the UK and the USA, but the general idea is that this organisation is created, enabled to grow “organically” and, once formally established, thereafter run and developed by a community of people, some of whom may well live nowhere near Spain.

Pioneers Wanted! – Ray and the team are looking for experienced, responsible and caring people to help co-create and sustainably develop all aspects of Horse World Spain – with a special focus on establishing the Equine Sanctuary and Riding For The Disabled facility, plus Natural Horsemanship Centre here in Almería.

Things are developing quite quickly with this project, and we are currently updating the “provisional” Horse World Spain website, so please feel free to make any suggestions regarding what you would like to see on the new site. You can contact Ray under username nature.horseman on this site, and also telephone Ray on (0034) 950 464 535 – mobile (0034) 63 888 68 60. See http://www.horseworld.es

Louise and Martin met on Love Horse in 2005. They were interviewed by the journalist David Rowan for an article for the Sunday Times (colour supplement). The article 'Downloading Mr Right' appeared on January 8th 2006. Click here to read the complete article.

'Louise Wright set one non-negotiable condition in choosing a man: he must accept her horse as part of the relationship. The 29-year-old blonde from Bristol has been riding since she was six, and with Tigs, her black Irish gelding, competes enthusiastically at weekend showjumping trials when not mucking out at the stables. Non-horsey boyfriends have generally been dismissive if not downright suspicious of the three hours a day she says that Tigs demands of her. So when she found herself in a romantic rut last winter, she began to despair of ever meeting Mr Right.

Then she stumbled across an item in Horse & Hound magazine that was to change her life. LoveHorse.co.uk was a slick new internet dating service for the equestrian community. Never having used a dating agency, and unaware that the site along with LoveAir.co.uk for cabin crews and LoveYoga.com for the karmic set was operated from an IT engineer's laptop, Wright wrote a profile under the nickname "Scrappydoo", describing herself as "a fun-loving country girl" and adding some eventing photos.'
. . .
contd.

'I wanted to say a huge thank you to Love Horse from Chris (Frisky Stallion) and I. We met just 4 weeks ago for the first time in person, but have been chatting on and off through the site and then on email for the past year. When we first met in the Love Horse cyber forum, we were each just looking for friends as both of us were in existing romantic relationships.

Ironically, and most strangely of all, since there was absolutely no link whasoever to our email friendship, a year later, both of our situations had changed, our outlooks on what we wanted from life were clearer, and and an email out of the blue from Chris perfectly coincided with when I had just renewed my membership on the site again!

After finally plucking up the courage to speak on the telephone, the first conversation lasted 7 hours - right through the night until day break! The second and third were of a similar pattern. I have seen more sunrises in the last month than I have ever before in my life!

We soon decided that we needed to cut the phone bills, and get some sleep, so agreed to meet properly! I know you are supposed to be dreadfully careful when meeting someone you have met through the internet for the first time, but I felt that I could trust this man implicitly. After so many hours of talking on the phone, coupled with the email conversations over the past year, I threw caution to the wind, and invited him up to meet me and my horse on a day I was having a dressage lesson. It was just the best day I can ever remember having; I will never forget it!

The whole experience has been a whirlwind, and totally blown me away. We both know we have met our soulmate in each other, and I am sure it won't be long before we are making future plans to build a life together. He sent me a text today saying I make him feel complete, almost as though I am the other half of him, and I feel the same. If it was not for your site, I would most definitely never have met Chris, and would be missing out on the most amazing experience that has ever happened to me... Thank you!

This site really does work!!'
